Tackling Accessibility from Type Design
This session presents the case study of Zed, used for Forum bez barier conference's branding. The typeface is an example of applied research, which was developed with low vision participants at its core. But even when the research is applied and has proven useful, its reach is limited to interested people.
For a topic like accessibility, widespread adoption is crucial, and this talk presents a new initiative to tackle this challenge. In an effort to make accessibility appealing to designers, a new site was born, coined Accessibility Tools.
At the time of this talk, the site was still under development, and we invited the audience to contribute to the project by sharing their own ideas and suggestions. Coming later in 2026, the resource aims to provide a go-to hub for designers to learn about accessibility and improve their design output.
