The World Health Organisation declared 2017's Water Day to be wastewater themed. During the past twenty five years, the Canary Islands have seen an incredible change in the way water is obtained and processed, with big investments in the way waste-water is treated.
In the 90's, Gobierno de Canarias created an insular water council for each of the islands, which now manage each water cycle almost independently. The client wanted to showcase the progress achieved in these years while also presenting a co-ordinated management of the islands. In order to achieve this, the advert presents the journey water starts when leaving through your sink. While a quick montage shows this, the voiceover reads: "Water sanitation is a health and environmental necessity". After, all seven councils (one for each island) come together, blending into the client's logo, while the narrative continues in the background: "a shared compromise".
